Course content:
1) Follow Emergency Procedures:
• LO1-7 cover emergency types, ship plans, crew duties, prevention measures, alarm responses, training importance, escape routes, and communication systems onboard.

2) Communication Theories:
• Communication is vital for safety and pollution prevention, involving methods, barriers, active listening, and good practices. Poor communication leads to negative outcomes, while effective communication offers significant advantages.

3) Maritime Pollution:
• The text outlines key topics on marine pollution: sources caused by humans, effects, MARPOL content, SOPEP purpose, garbage and waste requirements, engine room and oil tank waste control, Oil Record Book, special area rules, and Annex VI regulations

4) The Human Factor:
• Maintain good human relations and a positive work environment on board. Follow rules on alcohol and drugs, understand fatigue effects, and adhere to ILO rest time requirements. Recognize factors affecting rest and effective management on land and sea.

5) Follow Safe Work Routines:
• Describe safe work routines onboard, safety devices, protective equipment for closed spaces, and international measures to prevent accidents.
