We provide course about CK 401 offshore loading phase 1 and 2 combined in english. After the course the participants should be able to handle shuttle tankers safely and efficient when loading at Tandem-FSO / FPSO and OLS offshore loading systems.
Course description:
Emergency shut downs and berthing / unberthing, by exploiting engines, rudders and thrusters, under normal and severe conditions and with systems intact and with system errors.
The course covers theoretical topics such as:
• Rules and regulations
• Offshore loading systems
• General and field specific procedures
• Maneuvering including the forces acting on hulls, rudders and propellers
• Ship handling
• Ship and tug interaction including emergency towing
• The DP systems’ possibilities and limitations
• Relevant position reference systems (PRS)
• Unwanted incidents including reports from IMCA, Petil, HSE and ship owner
Simulator cases include:
• ROT technique
• Pivot point
• Anchorage operations
• Squat / sinkage / interaction exercises
• Ship handling and maneuvering including coastal / narrow water navigation
• Berthing and unberthing with and without tugs
• Approach, connecting, loading & disconnection at various offshore loading systems such as UKOLS & Tandem-FSO / FPSO.
• Ship handling in different weather conditions
• Escape maneuvering
• Engine trouble
• Propellers failure
• DP errors
• PRS errors
• ESD 1 and 2
Duration:
• Duration of the course is 5 days (42 Hrs) and max 3 participants per instructor and bridge simulator
The course is developed according to the GOMO guidelines, O&G UK regulations and Equinor’s competence requirements.
Target audience:
This course is for officers working on shuttle tankers
Prerequisites:
• Participants must have nautical education at management level, nautical certificate and have passed the DP Induction as well as the DP Simulator courses, DP CAP start and field basic exercises relevant for the OLSTs trade pattern in order to attend this course.
