We provide CK 223 polar water operations advanced course in english. This is the second of two courses required for deck officers operating in polar waters as defined in the Polar Code. Maximum number of participants are 6.
Content:
The content of the course is in accordance with the Polar Code, STCW Section V/4, table A-V/4-2 and reflects the relevant draft IMO model course. A trainee successfully completing this course will gain the ability to operate any ship in polar waters; conduct a voyage, understand equipment limitations, manage the safe operation of vessels and maintain safety of ship’s crew and passengers.
Duration:
• The course lasts for 30 hours, including 14 hours e-learning
Target audience:
Target participants are masters, chief-mates and officers in charge of navigation watch on ships operating in polar waters
Prerequisites:
• Masters and chief mates must also have the Basic Course and attend this before attending the Advanced course. It is recommended to take the two courses in combination.
