We provide CK 103 DP Refresher and Competency Assessment course. This course is designed to offer Dynamic Positioning Officers (DPOs) an opportunity to update their knowledge on various aspects of Dynamic Positioning (DP).
Overall learning objectives:
It covers a range of key areas, including a refresher on DP operations, fostering effective DP bridge team collaboration, training in emergency DP resource management, and keeping abreast of the latest industry guidelines. The primary goal is to assist DPOs in maintaining their proficiency in line with the most recent industry guidance and operational best practices, thereby meeting the revalidation requirements for their DPO certificates.
Course aims:
This course is designed for the participant to meet the following overall learning objective(s): On completion of the DP Revalidation And Assessment Course, the student should be able to:
• Have acquired knowledge of the latest rules and regulations
• Have acquired knowledge of the latest developments within sensors and PRS
• Have acquired knowledge of the latest relevant DP incidents and why they occurred
• Be able to recognize the various alarm, warning and information messages
• Carry out operational planning, risk assessment and hazard identification tasks
• Set up the DP system for a particular task/operation
• Decide on courses of action because of systems failure
Target group:
DPOs engage in the renewal of their certificates within the framework of the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme.
Prequalification:
• To revalidate their certificate, participants need a valid NI DP Certificate from the Nautical Institute and must have accumulated between 30 and 150 days of sea time in the last five years. Alternatively, if they have more than 150 days, they have the option to include the Refresher course (required every 5 years) as part of their certificate revalidation process, provided the annual CPD requirement by NI is not successfully fulfilled.
